Menopause Support is a herbal dietary supplement containing soy isoflavones, magnesium and hibiscus extract for all stages of the menopause.
Soy isoflavones are obtained using an extract of soya beans and provide 50mg of bioavailable phytoestrogenic soy isoflavones or 24mg of genistein daily, shown by research to be the right dosage.* This unique formulation also contains magnesium (known to help with symptoms such as tiredness and fatigue), hibiscus and vervain.
The 2015 NICE guidelines for menopause (2015) confirm there is some evidence that isoflavones may relieve vasomotor symptoms (in other words, flushing and temperature changes).
If hot flushes, excessive sweating or night sweats are your main menopausal symptoms, you might like to consider using A.Vogel Menopause Sage tablets - a licensed herbal remedy formulated specifically to treat menopausal hot flushes and night sweats.
Directions: Take 1 tablet twice daily (morning and evening) with food.
Each tablet contains 405 mg of tri-magnesium dicitrate anhydrous, 42 mg of soy bean extract (60% isoflavones), 35 mg Hibiscus extract and 0.25 mg Vervain essential oil.
Also contains microcrystalline cellulose, Beta vulgaris (beetroot juice) powder and magnesium stearate (vegetable source).
GM free. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
1 tablet contains 56.7mg elemental magnesium.
2 tablets provides 30% of adult EC RDA*
*EC recommended daily allowance,
**Do not use if pregnant, breast-feeding or on hormonal contraceptives including the pill, implant, injection or the Mirena coil.
Menopause Support can be taken alongside HRT, but please be aware that the isoflavone content is a source of phytoestrogens. If your HRT is not currently addressing your symptoms, it is best to talk it over with your doctor.
We believe supplements and all wellbeing products should use high quality, effective ingredients. All the products and brands we choose to sell meet our personal standard for quality and contain naturopathic and, where possible, organic ingredients.
The majority of our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, however we do stock high quality, sustainable fish oils, which means our full range is not vegetarian. We clearly identify these in the product listings.
We stock cruelty-free brands whose products and ingredients are never tested on animals.
Choosing Quality Supplements
We always look for high bioavailability, which is a good indicator of the quality and how well a product is absorbed. The higher the bioavailability, the more of your chosen supplement will be absorbed by your body.
All too often we see cheap supplements, which although they may have the required dosage of the active ingredients, they may have a low bioavailability due to being more refined or combined with poor quality additional ingredients to form tablets, or even make them appear more appetising.
Additional ingredients in cheaper supplements are often unnecessary or impact the absorption of the supplement you take, so it is important not only to check the dosage of your chosen active ingredients, but also ensure any other ingredients are good for you, too. It is the additional ingredients that can often contain allergens or make a product non-vegan, for example.
