One-a-day best-selling multivitamin and mineral formula from Viridian Nutrition.

The 'High Five' refers to the higher level of Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) found in this formula.  Vitamin B5 contributes to normal mental performance and a reduction in tiredness and fatigue. Vitamin B5 also contributes to the normal synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters.

Features buffered vitamin C, vegan vitamin D, natural source carotenoids, balanced B-complex, fully-reacted chelated minerals including Selenium, Chromium, Iron and Zinc, Selenium contributes to normal maintenance of hair and nails, the normal function of the immune system, normal thyroid function and for the protection of cells from oxidative stress. This 'oxidative stress' appears to be a major factor in many human diseases. Chromium contributes to the maintenance of normal blood glucose levels. Iron is essential for the healthy production of haemoglobin and red blood cells.

This copper-free formula also contains iron bisglycinate, a form of iron that is gentle on the digestive system. Iron contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and contributes to normal cognitive function. Zinc is a mineral essential to many body processes including the maintenance of normal cognitive function, vision, fertility and reproduction, hair, skin and nails and the immune system. Zinc also contributes to the normal metabolism of fatty acids and macronutrients.

We believe supplements and all wellbeing products should use high quality, effective ingredients.  All the products and brands we choose to sell meet our personal standard for quality and contain naturopathic and, where possible, organic ingredients.

The majority of our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, however we do stock high quality, sustainable fish oils, which means our full range is not vegetarian.  We clearly identify these in the product listings.

We stock cruelty-free brands whose products and ingredients are never tested on animals.

Choosing Quality Supplements

We always look for high bioavailability, which is a good indicator of the quality and how well a product is absorbed.  The higher the bioavailability, the more of your chosen supplement will be absorbed by your body.

All too often we see cheap supplements, which although they may have the required dosage of the active ingredients, they may have a low bioavailability due to being more refined or combined with poor quality additional ingredients to form tablets, or even make them appear more appetising.

Additional ingredients in cheaper supplements are often unnecessary or impact the absorption of the supplement you take, so it is important not only to check the dosage of your chosen active ingredients, but also ensure any other ingredients are good for you, too.   It is the additional ingredients that can often contain allergens or make a product non-vegan, for example.
